On October 23, 2017, Professor Li Gang from the Chinese University of Hong Kong was invited to have an academic visit to the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was also a guest at the Ecological Environmental Materials Forum and gave an academic report titled "Distraction histogenesis: biology and novel applications" .
In the report, Professor Li Gang introduced in detail the biological development process of stem cells and their current clinical application. The report mainly focused on the biological mechanism and clinical significance of circulating mesenchymal stem cells. Teacher Li introduced the clinical application examples of stem cells in fracture healing and limb lengthening technology with great emotion, which highlighted the clinical application value of stem cells. Professor Li Gang's report was profound and simple. The participants were enthusiastic and actively participated in the discussion, and benefited a lot.
Professor Li Gang has been engaged in research on stem cell biology for more than 20 years. He has conducted in-depth research at the molecular level around stem cells, a unique biological model, revealing the basic principles of fracture healing and the biological principles of limb extension technology, and has carried out in-depth research on the differentiation of human stem cells. It has great implications for the mechanism of bone regeneration. Professor Li Gang has published more than 180 SCI papers, 15 monographs, and edited 3 books. He is currently appointed as a professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology at the School of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a researcher at the Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Research at the School of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Researcher at Shenzhen Research Institute.
